Jehovah's Witness
From a biblical Christian perspective, Jehovah’s Witnesses are dangerous because they present a false version of Jesus Christ and a corrupted gospel. They deny that Jesus is fully God, teaching instead that He is a created being—the archangel Michael—rather than the eternal Son of God (John 1:1, 14; Colossians 1:16–17). By rejecting the Trinity and the deity of Christ, they undermine the very foundation of salvation, since only God Himself could pay the penalty for our sins. Scripture clearly teaches that salvation comes through faith in the true Jesus, not a distorted substitute (2 Corinthians 11:3–4).
Jehovah’s Witnesses are also spiritually dangerous because they teach a works-based system of salvation through loyalty to the Watchtower organization, door-to-door evangelism, and strict obedience, rather than through grace alone by faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8–9). They deny the reality of eternal punishment, offering instead the false hope of annihilation for unbelievers, and they forbid blood transfusions and other practices that can endanger physical life. By presenting a counterfeit gospel and binding people under the authority of an organization rather than the Word of God, the Jehovah’s Witness religion leads people away from the true freedom and eternal life found only in Jesus Christ.

Objections
1. Claim: “Jesus is not God; He is a created being, the first and greatest creation of Jehovah.”
Christian Response: Scripture repeatedly affirms the full deity of Jesus Christ. He is eternal, uncreated, and fully God (John 1:1–3, 14; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8). Denying His deity undermines salvation, because only God can atone for the sins of humanity (1 Peter 1:18–19).
2. Claim: “The Holy Spirit is not a Person but merely God’s active force.”
Christian Response: The Bible presents the Holy Spirit as a distinct Person of the Trinity who teaches, guides, convicts, and intercedes (John 14:16–17; Romans 8:26–27). Denying His personhood contradicts Scripture and diminishes the relational nature of God as Father, Son, and Spirit.
3. Claim: “Only Jehovah’s Witnesses are true Christians; all others are false.”
Christian Response: Scripture defines the true Church as all who are born again in Christ, not a single denomination (John 3:3–5; 1 Peter 2:9). Claiming exclusivity for one human organization goes against the gospel, which is for all who believe in Jesus (Acts 4:12).
4. Claim: “Salvation requires faith in Jehovah plus obedience to Watchtower teachings and rules.”
Christian Response: Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, not by human rules or organizational loyalty (Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5). Adding works or obedience to a human-led organization turns grace into legalism.
5. Claim: “Jesus did not rise bodily; He was resurrected as a spirit creature.”
Christian Response: The Bible affirms Jesus’ physical resurrection (Luke 24:39; John 20:27). His bodily resurrection is essential to the gospel because it validates His victory over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:17–20). Denying it undermines the hope of believers’ future resurrection.
6. Claim: “Hell does not exist; the wicked are annihilated rather than punished eternally.”
Christian Response: Scripture clearly teaches eternal punishment for those who reject God (Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:15). Annihilation denies God’s justice and the reality of eternal separation from Him for unrepentant sin.
7. Claim: “Blood transfusions are forbidden because the Bible commands abstaining from blood.”
Christian Response: Biblical commands regarding blood refer to dietary restrictions for Israelites (Acts 15:20, 29), not medical procedures. Refusing life-saving treatment misapplies Scripture and contradicts God’s command to preserve life (Deuteronomy 30:19).
8. Claim: “Holidays and celebrations of birthdays or Christmas are pagan and therefore sinful.”
Christian Response: Scripture does not forbid celebrating birthdays or commemorating Christ’s birth. Legalistic avoidance of harmless cultural practices turns human traditions into salvation requirements, which Scripture warns against (Colossians 2:16–17).
9. Claim: “Neutrality in politics and refusing military service is required to be faithful to Jehovah.”
Christian Response: While Christians should honor God above all, Scripture also commands respect for governing authorities (Romans 13:1–7). Extreme political disengagement or avoidance of civic duties can misrepresent God’s call to love neighbors and live responsibly in society.
