Islam
From a biblical Christian perspective, Islam is dangerous because it denies the central truth of the gospel: that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again. The Qur’an explicitly rejects Jesus’ deity, His crucifixion, and His resurrection, all of which are essential to salvation according to Scripture (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; John 3:16; John 14:6). By presenting Muhammad as the final prophet and the Qur’an as the ultimate authority, Islam sets aside God’s true Word and replaces it with a false revelation. The Bible warns that anyone preaching a different gospel is accursed (Galatians 1:8–9), and Islam’s denial of Christ’s true identity and saving work makes it spiritually deceptive and eternally dangerous.
Islam is also wrong from a Christian standpoint because it teaches a works-based system of salvation through submission (Islam means “submission”) and obedience to the Five Pillars, rather than through grace by faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). Without the assurance of forgiveness through Jesus’ sacrifice, Muslims are left striving to earn God’s favor, which Scripture teaches is impossible apart from Christ (Romans 3:20). Furthermore, by rejecting God’s self-revelation as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Islam promotes a false view of God that leads people away from the true relationship with Him. From a Christian perspective, this makes Islam not just another religion, but a dangerous counterfeit that keeps people from the only way to eternal life—faith in Jesus Christ.

Objections
1. Claim: “Islam restores the true monotheism of Abraham. Christians corrupt this with the Trinity, which is polytheism.”
Christian Response: The Trinity is not three gods but one God in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19). The Bible affirms one God who reveals Himself in distinct Persons, and Jesus is worshiped as God from the earliest Christian writings (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:6–11). Rejecting Christ’s deity denies God’s full revelation.
2. Claim: “Muhammad is the final prophet, bringing God’s complete and perfect revelation in the Qur’an.”
Christian Response: The Bible warns against anyone—angel or prophet—who preaches a different gospel (Galatians 1:8). Jesus is God’s final and ultimate Word (Hebrews 1:1–2). Unlike the Qur’an, the gospel centers on Christ’s death and resurrection, historically attested and confirmed by eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:3–8).
3. Claim: “The Qur’an is God’s perfect, unchanged word, unlike the corrupted Bible.”
Christian Response: Manuscript evidence shows the Bible’s text has been preserved with remarkable accuracy. Jesus Himself affirmed the Old Testament (Matthew 5:17–18), and the New Testament was written by eyewitnesses or close associates. By contrast, the Qur’an was compiled decades after Muhammad’s death and shows contradictions with both biblical history and earlier Islamic traditions.
4. Claim: “Jesus was only a prophet—He never claimed to be God, nor was He crucified.”
Christian Response: Jesus directly claimed divine authority (John 8:58; John 10:30) and accepted worship (Matthew 14:33). The crucifixion is one of the best-attested events of ancient history. Denying it contradicts both Scripture and historical evidence. The gospel hinges on the crucifixion and resurrection (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:17).
5. Claim: “Salvation comes through submission to Allah and good works outweighing bad deeds.”
Christian Response: Works can never erase sin or guarantee heaven (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23). Christianity teaches salvation by grace alone through faith in Christ, not by works (Ephesians 2:8–9). Jesus’ sacrifice paid the debt of sin once for all, giving believers assurance of eternal life (John 5:24).
6. Claim: “Islam honors Jesus as a great prophet and Mary as His virgin mother.”
Christian Response: Respecting Jesus while denying His deity and crucifixion is not true honor. Jesus Himself said those who reject Him reject the Father (John 5:23). To diminish Him to a mere prophet is to deny His identity as Lord and Savior.
7. Claim: “Christians have divided into countless denominations, but Islam is unified in belief.”
Christian Response: Christianity’s core gospel has remained the same across denominations: salvation by grace through faith in Christ’s death and resurrection. Islam itself is not unified, as seen in deep divisions between Sunni, Shia, Sufi, and other groups. True unity is found in Christ, who unites believers across all nations (Galatians 3:28).
8. Claim: “God does not need a Son—Christians blaspheme by attributing human qualities to Allah.”
Christian Response: God’s Sonship does not mean physical procreation, but eternal relationship within the Trinity. The Father sent the Son to reveal His love and accomplish redemption (John 3:16–18). Denying the Son is denying the very means by which God chose to save humanity (1 John 2:22–23).
