Our Mission

Shine the Light!

Our mission is to shine the Light of the Gospel in this dark world. We preach Jesus and care for our communities. This ministry is dedicated to evangelize to the lost and to equip and empower the saints by providing necessary resources to grow in faith and to encourage the church to not only be hearers of the Word, but also doers.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. -Matthew 5:14-16

Beliefs

God

We worship only ONE God, Yahweh, Creator of all things. Although He is one God, He is a trinity, which means He operates through three roles, called "Persons". God is all powerful, all knowing, and all present. He IS the Highest Power. There is none greater than Him, there is none equal to Him. God is outside of time. He always existed and will continue to exist. Everyone and everything are God's creation.

Trinity

God's three natures are Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Father: The Father is spirit and cannot be seen. All things come from The Father. When we are saved, we are made sons and daughters of God, and He becomes our Father.

The Son: The Son shares equal authority with The Father. The Son, like the other Persons of the Trinity, was not created and has always existed and will continue to exist. To save the world of sin, it was The Son who stepped down from Heaven, was born human and lived among us. His name is Jesus. He died on a cross and rose again three days later. He now sits at the right hand of The Father and will one day come again to judge the world. Until that day, He left us with a very special gift...

The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit, or The Holy Ghost is God Himself, dwelling within us who are saved by Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation, our guarantee to eternal life. While here on Earth, The Holy Spirit works in mighty ways:

Sealer: The Spirit is the “seal” marking believers as God’s own, much like a royal stamp of ownership. He is also the “guarantee” (Greek arrabōn, meaning down payment) of eternal life — a foretaste of heaven within us. Through His witness, we gain assurance of our adoption into God’s family. Without the Spirit, faith would waver, but with Him, we stand secure.

Revealer: The Spirit teaches us and reveals truth to us. He's even responsible for inspiring the writers of the Bible. The Spirit’s teaching role is both revelatory (bringing divine truth) and applicational (helping believers live out that truth). He doesn’t add new doctrines beyond Christ’s teaching but illuminates and makes clear what has been revealed. This means the Spirit makes Scripture “alive,” turning words on a page into transforming realities.

Convicter/Sanctifier: The Spirit works both in believers and unbelievers. In unbelievers, He pierces the conscience, exposing sin and pointing toward the need for a Savior. In believers, He continues to convict, not for condemnation (Romans 8:1) but for sanctification — shaping them into Christ’s likeness. This conviction is proof of God’s love, keeping His children from wandering into destruction.

Comforter/Helper: The Spirit is not a distant force but the very presence of God within believers. In the Old Testament, God’s presence dwelt in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple. After Christ’s resurrection, the Spirit now indwells believers, making each Christian a living temple. This is deeply intimate — the Spirit doesn’t merely visit but abides, creating ongoing fellowship with God.

Empowerer: The Spirit provides both power for witness and spiritual gifts for ministry. Boldness, endurance, wisdom, miracles, healing, tongues, prophecy — all flow from Him to advance the gospel. This empowerment isn’t just for ministry “work” but also for holy living. The Spirit strengthens believers to resist sin, live righteously, and reflect Christ.

The Bible

The Holy Bible is the written word of God. The Bible is not one book, but a collection of books. There are 66 books of the Bible- 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament. The Bible was written by about 40 authors, across 3 continents (Africa, Asia, Europe), in 3 languages (Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek), in over about 1,500 years.

The Old Testament, or the Tanakh, is divided into three parts- Law, Prophets, Writings. The five books of the Law, or the Pentateuch, tells us about the creation of our world in Genesis. Genesis also tells us how God chose normal people (patriarchs) to become HIS special people.

The next four books pick up after Genesis. God's people, Israel, are enslaved by Egypt. God uses Moses to deliver them from Egypt. After leaving Egypt, God sustains them in the wilderness. Moses meets with God on Mount Sinai, where he receives the law and the 10 Commandments. Israel wandered 40 years in the wilderness due to disobedience and unbelief. Joshua, who took after Moses' leadership, entered the next generation of Israel to the Promised Land.

The Prophets are divided into two sections- Former Prophets and Latter Prophets. The Former Prophets tells us about Israel's history, from conquest of the land to exile. The Latter Prophets are warnings to Israel who continuously disobey God. They must repent or God will judge them accordingly.

The Writings are a diverse collection of books that include history, poetry, wisdom, philosophy, short stories, apocalyptic visions.

The New Testament can be broken down into four parts- Gospels, Acts, Epistles, Prophecy. The Gospels are four books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) which give eyewitness accounts of the life of Jesus, who is the Christ, or the Messiah prophecied of in the Old Testament. The Gospels tell us about the birth of Christ, His ministry, His death, and resurrection.

The Acts of the Apostles, or Acts, tells us about the early Christian church. This book is Luke's second letter to Theophilus. It opens up with the apostles deciding who would replace Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. -Acts 2:1-4

Acts details Paul's conversion, who went from persecuting Christians to writing about half of the New Testament. The followers of The Way, or the Christians, preached the Gospel everywhere they went and spread the Good News message throughout Asia and Europe.

The Epistles are a collection of 21 books, written as letters by apostles and early church leaders to churches and individuals. These letters serve to teach doctrine, encourage believers, correct errors, and guide Christian living. They are essential for understanding the development and application of Christian beliefs and practices.

Revelation, or the Apocalypse of John, is the single Prophecy book of the New Testament. In this book, John, who was exiled to the island of Patmos, is given divine visions by God to show his servants what must soon take place. The book is full of symbolism and prophetic imagery. It gives us a glimpse of Heaven and what will happen before the return of Christ.

Sin

The word sin comes from the Hebrew archery term "khata", which means to 'miss the mark'. We are constantly missing that mark because it is our nature to sin. Even if we don't follow through with action, the mere thought of sinning is counted as sinning in our heart. Jesus makes this clear in

Matthew 5:21-22 and 5:27-28.

The bible tells us that there is none righteous, and our good works are filthy rags.

Because we are sinful in nature, our default destination is a place where we are separated from God. Sin cannot coexist with God because He is holy and sinless.

Romans 6:23 says that the payment of sin is death. We deserve death for our sin.

In ancient Israel, priests would sacrifice animals to pay for the sins of the people. The animals were only a temporary solution and would have to be continuously sacrificed.

Those who reject God will go to hell when they die, which is a place of eternal punishment.

We cannot save ourselves from hell BECAUSE we are sinners.

Salvation

God, who created all things, knows our human condition and our inability to escape sin. He loves us so much, that while we were yet sinners, He took on flesh by being born as one of us- human. This God man is Jesus. Although He is still fully God, He is also fully human in nature and experienced emotions like we do. Just like us, He was tempted- but unlike us, He never sinned.

Jesus is the Christ, which comes from the Hebrew word mashiach. According to Jewfaq, "The term "mashiach" literally means "the anointed one" in Hebrew, referring to the ancient practice of anointing kings with oil. In Jewish eschatology, the mashiach is expected to be a future redeemer who will bring peace and restore Israel. The word is used in the Hebrew Bible to describe individuals who were anointed for specific roles, such as priests and kings".

Jesus is the Redeemer prophesied about throughout the Old Testament books., such as in Isaiah chapter 53, which tells us how this man would die for our sins to reconcile us with God.

Jesus allowed Himself to be severely beaten and nailed to a cross to die.

Through His death, He became the perfect sacrifice- the only one that perfectly satisfied the wrath of God. Jesus became a direct way to Heaven for us.

All we have to do is believe. Believe does not only mean that we believe in His existence. When we believe in Jesus, we are fully trusting and relying on the sacrifice that He did on the cross- that it is not by our attempts to get into heaven through our own merits, but it is by the work of Jesus finished work.

When you put your full faith in Jesus, He grants you salvation. Your destination has now been rerouted, and you are en-route to Heaven. If you are in Christ, death is only the start of eternal life.

God deposits His Holy Spirit in you as a seal, which guarantees the believer's inheritance (see 2 Corinthians 1:22).

Salvation is not a license to sin, however. God tells us to repent and to be holy because He is holy. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live a life that is pleasing to God.

Ignorance

(Not knowing Christ)

Although the message of the Gospel has spread to almost all of the known world, some people have not yet heard about the Good News of Jesus Christ. What about them? Where do they go?

In Psalm 19, the heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Romans 1 tells us that we are without excuse, because God has made Himself known to us since the creation of the world and we chose to make false gods and pursue wickedness.

However, in the second chapter of Romans, we can see that those of other nations who don't know the God of the Bible, Gentiles, are guided by other laws. When they show the work of God's laws according to their conscience, although not knowing God's laws, they will be judged according to them.

Romans 2:14-15 "for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)"

Now, it may seem as though this is a setup for failure because they must keep the law, and no man but Jesus can fully keep the law. Gentiles don't even know the law!

This is where mercy and grace come in. God knows our hearts.

1 Chronicles 28:9 “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever."

He knows the elderly lady in some remote island that has never been reached with the Gospel. He knew her before she was formed in the womb. God knows our intentions and the secrets of our heart.

Psalm 44:21 "Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart."

Proverbs 21:2 "Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts."

God is not willing that any should perish

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

So why bother sharing the Gospel with the unreached?

Jesus commands His followers to spread the Gospel message around the world in what is known as The Great Commission.

Mark 16:15-18 "And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”"

As believers, it is our duty to tell the world about Jesus. Besides, it would be far better to be judged under grace, covered in the righteousness of Jesus Christ than to present yourself before the Lord drenched in sin.

...

...

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

-Matthew 28:18-20
