Serve
Learn how you can serve Christ and your community below:
"If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?" -James 2:15-16
3 methods to feeding the hungry that anybody can do individually or as a group: bag, box, table
Bag
For the bag method, you would simply buy bags, whether they be paper, plastic, or backpacks, and fill them with food. You can hand these out of your car window at a red light or approach somebody on foot. This is also a good opportunity to pray for them and offer further help. I recommend bringing a friend along, but this can be done alone.
You can go to the local grocery store or purchase the goods online.

If you are on a budget, you can go to Dollar Tree and find almost everything you need for $1.25, including bibles.
Check expiration dates and quality, and be careful not to leave bags in car, because it may damage some items. You may also include a list of local resources, such as food banks and housing programs. Be sure to include a bible. Gospel tracts and church info may also be included- handwritten works just as well as a card!
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." -Matthew 4:4

Box
Buy or build a wooden box like the ones at parks (take a book, leave a book) and stake it somewhere in your city. Please comply with local laws. Gospel tracts and follow up info may be included inside of the box as well.

Table
Set up table (a plastic foldable table would be a good choice) and hand out hot food, like pizza & drinks with Gospel tracts and bibles. This is a great way to evangelize, but may present some dangers. I recommend doing this as a group
